Wasn’t that Love ke liye saala kuch bhi karega?
Ummmmm, gone are the days when people would go to any lengths for love. Today it’s the money that drives the world. Why else would people do the weirdest things for a little publicity? Every weekend we watch our Bollywood stars do guest appearances on popular TV shows to promote their movies. All that is fine, I suppose. But some of our celebs go a little too far.
On April 16th, the media went amok with the news of Malaika Arora Khan-Arbaaz Khan split. So much was written and said about them that many people actually felt sorry for the couple. If you are one of those people, stop feeling sorry for the Khans. This news is nothing but a cheap publicity stunt for an advertisement they are shooting together.
Malaika and Arbaaz are endorsing a face cream. The advertisement will be shot in a couple of phases. They will initially be shows as having fallen out of love with each other. (This is why they are spreading rumors of their own divorce!!!) The rest of the phases will show how they rediscover their love after because of the face cream. How (un) original is that? Why do these face cream people keep on showing a relation between use of cream and love/success?
Malaika and Arbaaz neither denied the reports of their impending divorce nor did they confirm them. Probably they thought nobody would find out about the big lie that they have tried to spread. But the junta is used to such publicity stunts now, and knows to take everything with a pinch of salt!
It’s not very long back that Priyanka Chopra and cricketer Sreesanth were a part of another publicity stunts involving secret tapes of their personal conversations. This was for the endorsement of a soap product. Wonder why the good old simple and creative advertising is not good enough anymore!
