As monsoons wreak havoc across many states in India, most of us are enjoying garam chai with pakoras. No harm in doing that as long as you remember to take care of your health, diet and most importantly, your skin.
During rainy season the skin can suddenly become very oily or very dry. During the rains in the summer season, the weather becomes humid and we tend to sweat a lot. Not washing your skin regularly can also damage the skin. So we need to take care of our skin to look fresh, clean and pretty.

Here are some skin care products and ideas from the humble kitchen.
Almond Honey Mask:
Take 6-8 almonds and crush them. Mix in 2 tsp honey. Apply the paste on your face and keep it on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry your face.
Make a paste of besan with raw milk/cream and apply all over your face and neck. Keep it on till dry. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry your face.
Mix 1tsp honey, 1 tsp fresh curds and 1 tsp jojoba oil. Apply on you face and keep it on for 10 minutes. Wash off with plenty of cold water and pat dry your face.
Oily skin needs a mild cleansing product to get rid of excess oil, grime and dust. Use chokher/oatmeal paste as a facial scrub. Ripe papaya pulp may also be used as an exfoliant.
To a cup of rosewater, add two tsp of glycerine. Rub all over your skin. Wash off after 10 minutes. This will make the skin soft and smooth.
To 2 tsp of rosewater add two drops of strawberry oil and orange oil. Apply all over the face and rinse off after 10 minutes. Pat dry the face.
Dont rub your face with a towel to dry. Always gently pat dry the face.
An overcast sky doesnt mean that there is no danger from the sun. Do not forget to apply your sunscreen everyday to get protection from UVA and UVB rays. Choose a good product and apply 20 minutes before you go out.
