Do you wish you could scrap yourself off all photographs?
Or do you keep staring for hours at the perfect faces in magazine covers, ads, calendars and any other model shoot you come across?
Does your self-conscious mind keep wondering how all the faces in the photographs manage to look so good all the time!
The way you look in a photograph has a lot to do with the shooting angle, lighting, and the expertise of a photographer. That is why even the most ordinary of faces in the glamour word appear so heavenly in photographs.
Yet, there is a lot that is in your hands too, like:
1. Your Clothes
Selecting the clothes that suit you and wearing the colour that enhances your skin hue is definitely in your hands. If your favourite colours are different from the colours that suit you, you will have to change your choice, to be in the apt colours always!
Consult people while trying and buying clothes at a store. This may call for some trial-and-error and demand a little more time from you. But it is all worth the effort.
2. Your Features
Try to highlight your best features and cover the imperfections. You can easily hide the features you don’t like and show off the ones you like. For example, if you've got a sexy jaw line, turn your face slightly to a side. If you like your lips look straight into the camera and give a bright smile!
There would be certain angles in which you look good, and certain others which do not bring out your best looks. If you are really determined to look your best in all future snaps, do some research on yourself. Take a digicam and click a few photos in different angles. Preview them and find out the best angles for you. Now you know how to pose for your next picture!
3. Your Makeup
Camera is very makeup sensitive. Usually it is advised to use a mat finish makeup rather than glossy one. But these norms are being tampered with. For you, again, the trial-and-error method is best to understand what colours suit your skin colour and hair type. But beware of the shine that often appears on the t-zone (the top of your nose and your forehead) due to oily skin, sweat or glossy makeup.
4. Your Expressions
Even if the thought of appearing ugly in a pic is troubling you, keep the worry off your face! Think about something else, a fun moment or a pleasing person. Try to keep aside all your tensions when you smile into the camera. Wear a relaxed and cheerful expression on your face. Smile wide and confidently and it will become really difficult for the camera to make you look ugly!
A genuine smile reflects in the eyes. And smiling eyes always look beautiful. That is why, it is so important to think happy thoughts while posing for a photograph.
Lastly, try to be well-dressed all the time. Who knows when the occasion might come knocking at you!
