When Kareena Kapoor did her debut in Rafugee, she was received with mixed reactions from the audience and critics. But this sibling of Karishma Kapoor has not only proved herself, but has even surpassed the popularity of her elder sis!

Not all siblings have been so lucky. Or rather, not all have been working hard enough to prove themselves.

Amrita Arora
The technically not-so-beautiful Malaika Arora Khan shattered the myth of ‘fair models only’ prevailing in the industry for years. And with her sexy looks and dance moves, she has been quite successful in conquering the kingdom of item numbers!

While, Amrita is still struggling with petty roles in slapstick comedies! In fact she is almost invisible in this industry, sparing few occasions when generous directors like Farah Khan remind us of her presence through their star studded songs.

Esha Deol
Sunny Deol had his share of fame and so did Boby with a few but remarkable films like Gupt and Ajnabee. But it really takes some effort to think of a hit movie with Isha Deol’s contribution in it! In fact she is more visible in ads for sunscreens than on the silver screen!

Shamita Shetty
She came with a bang and disappeared into thin air! She can be termed as a one-hit heroine or to be generous a two-hit heroine: Mohobattien and Zahar. But in none of the movies has she been able to carry the movies on her broad shoulders! She has even tried her hands on the last resort: item numbers, but in vain.

Rinkie Khanna
This in unfair! Even twinkle deserves to be in this category. But just because she was a fraction of a point more popular than this little girl, she has been omitted! Or maybe because she has now started to mind her own business (literary, an interior designing one) and not interfere in the due course of providing entertainment to the audience.

Rinkie too tried her luck for quite some time. But now, like a good girl she learnt from her sister, and has settled down as a house wife of an entrepreneur.

Tanisha
Acting talent matters and here is the biggest example! Kajol never had a perfect figure or a perfect skin tone, but she had the perfect talent that gave her hits after hits! So much so that even after nine years of marriage, she is considered quite fit for lead roles!

But Tanisha never learnt from her elder sister! She chose skin shows over acting and went down the drain! And her shrieking voice sans emotional modulations still rings in the ears of people who dared to go and watch Neal and Nikki in dobly sound theatres.

Tushar Kapoor
Although this man might not have a sibling in Bollywood, he deserves an important place in this prestigious category. This guy cannot be measured on the usual scales of acting, star value, looks and the like, because before all of them he lacks one very important thing. PERSONALITY! There is nothing in his personality that gives even a hint of stardom! And this may be the reason why he goes unnoticed in spite of starring in scores of movies! Ironically, his best work till date has been in a film in which he didn’t have a single dialogue!

Most of these ‘starlings’ are still stuck in the mess of matching up to the expectations and gaining the star qualities! And I really hope they have an alternative profession in mind to survive on when their supporting elder siblings get busy in their own lives!
