TLC For Your Colored Hair

Last year, the case of a woman from Chembur, Mumbai made waves in the media. The woman in question had opted for a (very expensive) hair re-bonding procedure, but ended up losing all her hair. While the fate of her case is not known, one thing that we are sure of is the fact that it will take a long time for her hair to return to its pre-bonding state (if it happens at all). Often in such cases, patients end up with permanent damage to their prized tresses.

Chemical treatments, weird hairdos, over worked and careless stylists, assorted array of styling aids; all of these make a sure recipe for tress disaster. Since chemical treatments and colors are here to stay, you must learn how to provide Tender Loving Care to your hair.

Do you wonder Bhala uske baalon ka rang mere baalon se accha kaise? Maine bhi to who hi color use kiya hai!
The reason may be a badly done job on the part of your stylist. Color kept on for too long fails to bring out the shade you want. Choosing a bad color may also be the problem here.

If coloring your hair gives you rashes on your skin, you are probably allergic to it. One can develop allergies to a product one has used a zillion times. So don’t be surprised if your favorite color is giving you the rashes!

For streaked hair that makes you look like a tiger-in-the-making, the reason is use of too strong bleach. If the highlights fail to appear in aesthetic strands, the reason probably is that they were applied too close. This will make the highlights appear in blocks instead of strands.

If you have chosen to color your hair jet black, you may have to reconsider keeping in mind the rest of your face. If you have a mature face, with wrinkles or sagging skin, black hair won’t make you look young. It will only make you look ghastly and unnatural. So choose a color that goes well with your face. Use a shade lighter than your natural tone.

This is a must for the 40+ women,

Try avoiding dyeing/coloring your hair. A chemical treatment can never be good for the health of your mane. So opt to color your hair only if you really need to. And when you need to, choose a color with 4% hydrogen peroxide instead of 6%. Higher the hydrogen peroxide percentage, harsher the dye is to your mane. If possible, dye only the grays.

A patch test is a must
, especially when you buy a new product. Take the test behind your ears and observe for 3 days before doing the whole thing. Buy shampoo and conditioners especially formulated for colored hair and condition, condition, condition. The trick to a healthy and lustrous mane is regular conditioning.
