Raghav Khanna is 29, successful and rich. The stories of his success go much beyond his ad agency. Raghav, or RK as his friends call him, is a BIG HIT with the ladies. Candidly RK tells us that he has dated at least 24 women in the last 6-7 years. That’s much better than the average dating profile of Indians!
So, what is the secret of RK’s success with the opposite sex? Raghav has mastered the art of dating. He knows what buttons to press, what words to say, and most importantly, what NOT to say or do on dates. From years of experience, RK outlines for our Memsaabs, tips and strategies for successful flirting. These tips are generally meant for women, but I am quite sure that men can also learn a thing or two here…
Show Your Interest
Checking out the opposite sex is not a man’s prerogative (contrary to what your mother taught you)! So when you are in a restaurant, pub or coffee shop or any other place, and you see a guy you could be interested in…..don’t just look away immediately! Learn to look without staring. Look at him, hold the look for a few seconds, and look away. After a few minutes, repeat the sequence, but increase your ‘look at him” by a few seconds. This will definitely tell him you are interested, without making you look cheap. Rest assured!
Feel Sexy, Appear Sexy
Most women think that it is a crime to be sexy. But it’s not yaar! Sexiness is not about wearing low cut or revealing dresses. A woman clad in a sari can be “oh so sexy!” and a woman dressed in a mini skirt can also be quite unsexy. Sexiness is less about what you wear, and more about how you carry what you wear. It’s all in your attitude. If you are confident and feel sexy, men are bound to find you sexy…no matter what you wear!
Modulate Your Voice
When interested in a guy, lower your voice. Talking in a low and husky tone is so attractive and sexy to men. Never underestimate the allure of a whisper! It’s not only sexy, but also shows intimacy and closeness. In contrast, talking in a shouting, screaming or screeching tone is the worst turn off you could use to scare away men. So practice your lower notes!!!
Be Interested In Him
You probably know the body language of “showing interest” already. Look at him and not at the floor while he talks. Don’t interrupt. Don’t signal for the waiter or talk to anyone else when he’s talking to you. You know it all, right? But the most important thing to show a guy that you are interested is to “actually be interested in what he says”. Listen to him and give appropriate answers. The more you appear to be interested in him, more will be the interest he takes in you!
Let Him Catch You Alone
If you go to pubs, restaurants and coffee shops with a bunch of friends, you are unlikely to be approached. After all, who would want to risk being turned down in front of a bunch of ladies? That just happens in the movies, girls! So if you like a guy you see and think he might be interested too, separate yourself from your group for a while. Give him some opportunity to come up to you.
Be Yourself
While trying to impress a potential date, most people pretend to be someone they are absolutely not! Don’t do that. After all, how long can you go on pretending? If you really get together and have a relationship, imagine how difficult it would be to keep on the pretence! Wouldn’t it be much better to just be yourself?
Make The First Move
Yes, men love women who can take initiative in a relationship. In fact, men find it quite difficult to turn down a woman, unless they are already involved or something! Since women are talking of equality and independence, it is only fair that we do the asking as well, No?
These are a few tips that Raghav shared with us about successful flirting. RK says that as important as these tips are the tips on “what not to do” when flirting. Wanna know what he said about that? Just come back to Memsaab for our next article in the series. Till then, Happy Hunting!!!
