A very touching movie...
Aamir Khan, the experimental Khan… the out-of-the-crowd, steady moving, perfectionist has done it again with his directoral debut Tare Zameen Par!
The film is of the children, for the parents, and by a man who always manages to win the hearts of the audience with just one great shot a year!
Tare Zameen Par is about a nine year old child who faces a big challenge coping up with the fast moving world around him. The child is constantly fighting against the world who thinks he is a “duffer”! Finally he becomes frustrated and loses his self-confidence.
Aamir Khan is his rescue angel in the face of a drawing teacher.
The first half of the film is rather slow. Although it is meant to exhibit the mental condition of the innocent child, it is a little loosely packed with too many songs. And with every song you wait for our hero, Aamir Khan, to take control on screen. But he only appears a few minutes before intermission!
The second half draws you in, melts your heart and wets your eyes! The perfect direction and cinematography is clearly visible in the way the emotions and actions have been captured and weaved into the screenplay.
The melodious music by Shankar–Ehsaan-Loy with powerful lyrics by Prasoon Joshi is heart touching, only it touches the heart too frequently in the first half!
The movie is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions with Aamir himself being the producer as well as the director of the movie. The star cast includes Aamir Khan, Tisca Chopra, Darsheel Safary, and M. K. Raina.
The film takes up a rather greater cause than the dilemma of a little child. Its base line every child is special speaks for the aptitude of all the children in the world, however different they may be! The film also has hints, every now and then, that represent the millions of children, including yours, who need our special care to emerge as winners!
After initiating a nationwide revolution with Rang De Basanti, this time Aamir Khan is surely going to move the hearts of many a parents, teachers and the rest!
