All those who talk about women empowerment, equality of sex, equality of opportunity… Shut Up!
All these great things still remain confined to texts and ideologies. The reality is singing another tune. And no, this is not about the rural, uneducated masses in the remote villages of India. This is the story of our national capital, Delhi! Don’t believe it? Oh! Then what would you say of the unfair decision that was recently taken by our beloved Manmohan uncle? The Megsaysay Award winner, India’s first women to enter IPS has been rejected for a two year junior of hers… for what? Has she not served her tenure with utmost dedication, and sincerity? Oh! Maybe she forgot to be a ‘yes minister’ to the ruling party. Now that’s a serious thing to do in India, putting your post on stake!
Her junior, Mr. Yadhuvir Singh Shalwal, being 2 years junior to this dynamic lady, has been appointed as the Delhi Police Commissioner. Why?
Where Kiran Bedi has only 2 years in hand, Shalwal has more. He could have given the commissionership after she retired. But Indian politics follows its own set of rules that are driven by everything else accept rationality!
