2 teaspoons olive oil
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound asparagus, tough ends snapped off, spears cut diagonally into 1-inch lengths
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese

Here's another quick loss diet that can be used to lose a kilo in 1 week. But this diet is not sustainable. This means that it cannot be used successfully for long time. In my opinion, it can be used for a week after 4-5 weeks.

Egg Diet

B/F: 5-6 Egg Whites, eaten in any form. You can take a cup of milk or tea if you like.

Lunch: 1 Roti made of soya flour plus 1 egg white. Eat this roti with any vegetable of your choice except potato, carrot and peas.

Dinner: Soup, salad, vegetables. You may have 1-2 egg whites if you wish.

  • 2 (16 ounce) packages shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 (4 ounce) cans chopped green chile peppers, juice reserved
  • 12 eggs

Chocolate/Peanut Butter Bars

8 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
½ pound or 2 sticks of butter, melted
1½ cups of unsweetened peanut butter
25 packets of Nutrasweet or equivilent
½ cup of crushed walnuts

Melt together unsweetened Chocolate, butter, Peanut Butter, and Nutrasweet. Pour into a greased cake pan. Cool for 1 hour. Cut into bars.

So in my last post I mentioned the loss of a kilo at the end of a 2 week period. Here's what I ate during those 2 weeks. I hope you will find this helpful:

Since I am a vegetarian, I faced a problem in upping my protein intake. I cud only have paneer and soy for that. But if u r a non vegetarian, you can enjoy more variety with fish and chicken as well.

Morning:

Immediately after wakng up, 2 glasses of warm water.
B/F: 1 or 2 soya+paneer parathas and a cup of tea. U may go for egg whites also.

Mid Morning: A small bowl of papaya/water melon/musk melon

In the previous entry, I mentioned about our protein needs. Over the years, researchers and dieters have discovered that a high protein/low carb diet is very helpful in losing weight. Though I am not completely unable to understand things like insulin resistance, role of simple & complex carbs etc, what I have learnt from personal experience is that reducing carbs does help.
