Remember Sonam Kapoor? She’s the lovely daughter of Anil Kapoor, who was launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his dreamy eyed (and blue-eyed too) project Saawariya. Though the film bombed at the box office, both the debutants were noticed by the industry and the people. So Sonam bagged a prestigious project by the name of Dilli 6. But the lucky lady has recently added one more feather to her cap.

Sonam has been chosen by Yash Raj Films to star opposite King Khan, Shahrukh in their next venture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. We call her lucky because hundreds of girls auditioned for this role in many talent hunt contests organized in Punjab. Many others tried their luck by sending pictures and resumes to the Yash Raj Studio. But the girl who bagged the role is our very own Sonam Kapoor.

Why this movie is being so talked about is that Aditya Chopra will himself direct this one. Aditya is returning to direction after a gap of eight years. So obviously he wants everything to be just perfect. He was looking for an authentic Punjabi girl who could portray the character flawlessly. Sonam seems to fit the bill. The story has been woven around a 40 year old guy who falls in love with a 16 year old girl.

Aditya and Shahrukh have given us huge hits like Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge & Mohabbatein. We are sure this one will be a big hit too. The movie is slated for a December 12 release as it will coincide with Eid festivities, followed by winter vacation. Great time to cash in on the holiday mood, Right Mr Aditya Chopra?
