The biggest break up on the small screen, the Smriti-Ektaa Rift seems to have patched up!

Twenty nine days before the end of a very eventful year, on the eve of the Indian Tele Awards, Smriti Iraani and Ekta Kapoor officially declared their patch up on stage, in front of all their fans and colleagues!

Smriti took the initiative. To everyone’s astonishment, she mentioned Ektaa’s name in her ‘Thank You’ speech! She was receiving the award for the best Ensemble Cast for her production, ‘Virudh’ on Sony. And guess what she thanked her for? In front of the big lot who waited her to shower words of gratitude on them, she thanked Ektaa only for letting her go!

Here’s how she supported her argument: She said that if she wouldn’t have left Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, she wouldn’t have been able to give time to Virudh and bring it to this award winning level!

Immediately after the startling speech, as if planned by destiny, came Ektaa’s turn! She bagged the award for the best production house (Balajee Films) and the opportunity to fire an answer to Smriti’s words that were still fresh in everyone’s mind. So, in her ‘thank you’ speech, she wished that next year Smriti wins this award! Though Ektaa did add some spice to it by telling Smriti that she never had time for her!

Seems the tension between the two biggest newsmakers of the small screen is finally easing out. The new Tulsi has smoothly rolled herself into the Kyunkii story AND Virudh is winning awards… what better reason for a Reunion of the two producers after the Great Indian Television Rift?
