What do you think is the most important job in the world? Some of you would say that a teachers job is the most important. While some people would mention doctors. A few would talk about farmers. Actually all of these jobs are very important. We need doctors to make us disease free, teachers to educate us, and farmers to feed the world. There are many more important jobs that I have not mentioned.

But which is the most important job?

The most important job is that of a mother. A mother can decide the future of society. She shapes the future of the world in her home. And unfortunately a mothers job is the most under-valued and unappreciated. As someone said The best things in life come free! So is the case with mothers. A mother does so many things for her children that it would be impossible to count.

She brings us into this beautiful world.
She nurtures us through our childhood.
She teaches us our first words.
She holds our hand when we learn to walk.
She helps us with our alphabet.
She is there to soothe us when we fall down and get hurt.
She is a friend in our teenage years.
She teaches us how to differentiate between right and wrong.
She cares enough to be strict with us, even though she knows we hate it.

We feel irritated when our mothers ask us about our whereabouts. We mind when they want to know all our friends. We get really angry when they tell us that we cannot wear that skimpy top! And we ask God the reason for making moms so mean. Yes, we think they are a mean breed! They are constantly breathing down our backs, telling us to clean the room, do the dishes, fold the laundry etc. And we ask ourselves, Is child labor really banned in this country?

But we forget what motivates them to be strict with us. They love us so much that they cant see us getting hurt. They have seen and experienced more of this world than we. They wish to protect us from getting hurt. Even though they know wed hate them for it, they make rules for us. That is what sets them apart. They are selfless in their love for us. They dont expect anything at all in return for their love and caring. May God Bless Them!

So if its been a while since you told your mom that you love her, do it now. Tell her how much she means to you and how much you appreciate her presence in your life. It will bring a smile to her lips and joy to her heart. I can already imagine my mom smiling, as she reads this. Love You mom!
