Actually moms should feel special on every day of the year. But the second Sunday of May is celebrated as Mother’s Day every year. This is one day when children all over the world take time out and make efforts to show their love and gratitude to their mothers. Mothers are so special that one day a year is simply not enough to do that! But we try, nevertheless.
So if you wish to do something special for your mom tomorrow, here are a few ideas…
• Relieve your mother of all the responsibilities on this day. Take over the house, the kitchen as a substitute. Let her get some rest, be lazy, visit her friends, watch TV, do anything she wants.
• Book her into a spa for some nice pampering. Have her get a full body massage along with interesting facial treatments. Let this be a day to relax her in every possible way.
• Arrange a “Mothers Day Party” for her and her friends. Invite all her close friends and their children to the party. Have interesting games and fun activities planned to make the event all the more special. Make the party an event for every mother-child to bond.
• Buy her a collection of her favorite movie DVD’s. And this obviously means that she should get the whole day off to watch the movies! Other gifts could be books, jewlery, cosmetics, purses etc.
• Take her out on a picnic. Arrange the food, the sheets, the music. Pack up everything, and off you go! Fine food, good music, a little dancing and a lot of games can be the perfect recipe for a great celebration of “motherhood”.
• Write a nice poem/message for her. Leave it on her bedside the night before along with a card/gift. Your loving words will definitely be more precious to her than any gift money can buy. So put a lot of love and a little effort into penning down your love and gratitude.
Whatever you do, just show her that you love her. Tell her that you will always be there for her, in sickness and in health. Show her that you really care. After all, that is all that Mother’s Day is about.
