Tamil superstar, R. Madhavan has decided to loose half a dozen kilograms of weight!

Not that the actor has suddenly realized how overweight he has become… but he is doing all this for Kamal Hassan’s daughter, Shruti Hassan!

Madhavan has been signed opposite Shrut in her debut film. The film is a romantic-thriller and Shruti being at least 10 years younger to Madhavan, has put their on-screen compatibility in question!

Now to live up to the heavyweight expectations of his fans, Madhavan needs to loose at least six kilos of bulk!

Currently the superstar weights 80 kilos. He admits, “I had gone to Britain and lost over 10 kg last year…. But to look compatible with Shruti, I've to bring my weight down to 74 kg and I have to do it immediately."

He further said, "When you're overweight, it's not difficult to lose some pounds. But when you're normal in weight, bringing the scale down is tough," Madhavan said.

Talking about his debutant co-start, he added, "Until the contract was signed, we were not allowed to announce Shruti's name. It's a love story set in a strong thriller format.”

The film that is yet to get a name is being directed by the popular Marathi director, Nishikant Kamat and the music for the movie has been scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Madhavan has been given a timeframe by the director to get into youthful shape.

Being a star surely requires some hard work!
