The word “HOT” is so hot these days that everybody wants to look “hot” and be happening! Don’t you find it surprising that people today want to be “hot” as well as “cool”? Amusing, Right?
So how would you like it if you could be “hot” and healthy at the same time? This means that you can make your mom happy and you can also attract some good old “male attention”! But jokes apart, every Memsaab should want to be hot and healthy for herself and not to please others. Good health is very important, especially in this age of myriad diseases. Fifty years ago, currently “household” terms like diabetes and cholesterol were rarely known to people. Our immune system is forced to work overtime to keep us healthy, and many times it fails.
Here are some tips that will keep you healthy. And if you follow them closely for at least six months, you will end up looking really hot! Of course you can look hot even without going through with these tips. A lot of crash dieting can also get you “male attention”. But wouldn’t it be better to eat properly, be healthy and look hot, than to just look hot? So here goes..
• Start your day by drinking at least two glasses of water. You can also drink vegetable juice in the mornings. This will help you detoxify your body and maintain proper working of the digestive tract.
• Moderation is the key to good health. So get a moderate amount of all food groups in your diet. Focus on getting enough fiber, protein and vitamins. If you enjoy snacking, follow the rule of moderation.
• The oil you eat decides the fate of your health. Choose mono or polyunsaturated oils to cook food. Sunflower, canola, olive, rice bran and soya oils are considered to be good for health. For best results, rotate or blend the oils.
• A weekly-“complete body detox” is important. Choose a day of the week when you consume only fruit and vegetable juices all through the day. This is the day your digestive system relaxes and flushes out the toxins. After you have done this a couple of weeks, you will see the results for yourself.
• As far as possible, reduce the content of fat in your diet. So if you eat non vegetarian food, remember to trim away all the fat before you cook. Avoid rich sweets and fried stuff.
• Start an exercise routine that you can be consistent at. It is very important to choose activities that really interest you. Also, rotating between different kinds of activities is found to be useful.
• Practice some yoga or meditation for relaxing your body and mind. Stress is an integral part of our lives. While you cannot completely eliminate stress from your life, you can certainly learn to deal with it effectively.
• Get an annual health check up done, especially if you are over the age of 40. Your health check up will give you early warning signals if anything is wrong.
These tips are very general and everyone can follow them easily. If you consistently practice these health tips, you will find yourself becoming more shapely and lean. Remember, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
