Kitchen is one department that is inevitably handed over to us and a place that always manages to get dirty, no matter how frequently we use the numerous cleaning agents! This is because our kitchen also works on the phenomenon of prevention is better than cure! Only if we take care of certain small things while working in our respective rasois
Pre-washing preparation of utensils
The importance of scraping and washing utensils as soon as possible after use is often overlooked. Removing solid chunks of food from the dishes by scraping them into a garbage-bin is absolutely essential to maintaining the usability of the sink. In addition, we need to rinse any sort of semi-liquid waste, together with perhaps some very small solid waste. This not only makes eventual washing easier by preventing waste from drying into a solid film, but also allows the washing sink to be kept as clean as possible during the actual washing job, leading to cleaner and more hygienic cleaning of dishes.
Storing dirty utensils
Ideally, one would always wash utensils soon after use in order to keep the kitchen tidy. Often, however, we do get delayed! In any case, find a suitable storage location for the dirty utensils outside the sink. This serves the same purpose as scraping the dishes that is, preventing the sink from blocking. Also, washing is the easiest when one begins with an empty sink.
Post-Cooking
Everyone has her own cooking style. Therefore, suggesting a less elaborate use of utensils is not practical. But once the cooking is done with, get back control, immediately! You will often find that the utensils are not the only part of the kitchen that calls for cleaning. Something may have spilled on the counter or the table, or crumbs may cover the floor. Any outstanding solid or semi-liquid waste should be removed as soon as possible to prevent the drying process from making clean-up needlessly difficult. You can also do with some quick work with the broom. In fact, even a mediocre sweeping job would be of great help. A little extra effort after every main-meal-cooking-job will save hours of dirty work on Sunday!
Garbage
Garbage disposal is another major wing of the dirty-kitchen syndrome! You might be well-acquainted with the process of tying up the garbage bag. That is imperative, but what after that? Many people leave the garbage bag beside the bin, which is definitely better than leaving the tied garbage bag in the garbage bin, but it still does not go far enough. If garbage cannot immediately be taken out, it can atleast be placed somewhere outsidethe house. This way your garbage is actually closest to the garbage truck, that will come to pick it up the next day and farthest from your kitchen!
Actually the key to keep kitchens clean is simply to clean it regularly. Proper regular cleaning will take much less time that you think and certainly a lot less time than what it takes to take up the cleansing exercise once a week! This is because your kitchen wouldnt ever get dirty enough to demand so much cleansing time from you. After all you have better things to do in life, dont you?
