It's Tough for Generation W

Women empowerment is in our hands, but eradicating bias against women is not!

I do not watch these public poll competitions regularly, but for the past few days I have accidentally come across two of them. And the pattern of elimination has made one thing clear. Some people here have a problem with women rising.

The last two Indian Idols were Males. No issues. The only female contestant in the finalists, Ankeeta, in Indian Idol III has also been eliminated. Ok I take it. Sumitra, Abhilasha, Priyani, this time three of the four female finalists in Voice of India were in the Chakarview and finally another female was eliminated! NOT FAIR!

And all this because of the public is voting. I believe, the judgements would have been fairer if professionals in music were judging. I bet not even 10% of the ‘public’ that is seriously voting has more than 10% of serious “gyan” about music!

Roughly, about 72% of the total population in India owing cell phones is males. Is that the reason? I am compelled to think…
