Is it Time to Quit?

So are you having temporary job blues or the time has come for you to quit your job? Temporary job blues can lead you to take a wrong decision. This makes it very difficult for us to decide whether it is a serious problem, or a temporary bug!

There are a few things that can help you decide when your start having uneasy days at office and sleepless nights at home!

o I dont get along with my boss
You and your boss dont have to be drinking buddies, but you should at least be able to tolerate your boss.
While "bad bosses" make for good Dilbert cartoons, the reality is no laughing matter for most employees. Problems with a supervisor can hinder an employees work and may even affect the employees personal life. The result may be lost sleep, negative feelings, and physical symptoms of stress.
There are some bad bosses in the world, but that doesnt mean you have to work for one!

o The work is not challenging
Having very little challenge in a job can make the days seem long and boring. Challenge is good. Its what makes work interesting, lets you use your brain, and gives you the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day. Of course, too many challenges create stress (access of anything is you know what!) What Im talking about is having just enough challenge to feel good about your work.

o I am thinking of asking for a pay raise
"Low pay" is one of the top reasons for people to quit a job (for obvious reasons!). While pay becomes secondary if someone enjoys her work, if you dont like your job then youll never feel you are being paid enough to do it!

o I have seriously considered taking stress leave
You are not working for stress. So dont confuse responsibility with stress. If stress is what you are getting, you can well get it without a job!

o I often work late
Some people love working late. They may even consider their job to be their "hobby." But if that was the case with you, you wouldnt be complaining about it here! Its a bad thing if you feel burdened with too much work, angry about your job cutting into your personal life, or resentful that you arent being fairly compensated for the hours you work. So go ahead and quit!

o I have recently visited career websites and read the newspaper job ads
Even if you havent made up your mind to quit your job, your behavior can give you getting solid clues about your desires. At the very least, you are curious to learn if there might be something better for you out there. Then why be in two minds? Catch a good job and QUIT!

You will not commit a crime if you quite a "good" job, if YOU do not enjoy it or feel like quitting it! False consoles never help!
