Is It Time For a Job Switch?

Authors:

Everyone has Monday morning blues. But if this continues on other days too, you know something is not right. It could be you. It could be your job!

Gone are the days when the employees used to spend all their lives serving one company. Today, it is not loyalty, but opportunity to grow that drives the employees.

It is quite possible that you are feeling stagnated and dissatisfies with your current job. Look for the following clues to know if you are ready for a job switch:

1. Declining performance
Like business, performance is also a fluctuating cycle. So there are days when you perform really well, and win everyone’s praise and recognition and there are times when nothing seems to go right! But when these not-so-favourable times go on and on and on for weeks and months, take the hint!

2. Too much cribbing
Some amount of cribbing is good for health. Really. It gives you a break from your monotonous job and relaxes your mind. But if you only crib, whenever you talk to your co-workers… take it seriously. There might me NOTHING left in your office that you are happy about. And you need to find a place that makes you happy.

3. Blind future
Everyone aspires to reach a certain position in an organisation. But if you are not being able to foresee your future with your current employer, you probably don’t have any here. It is something else you are looking for. Find it. Apply.

4. You can’s figure out why!
You know there is something wrong with your current work and you are ready to change the situation. But you are not able to understand exactly what you need to change. This possibly means that there is a combination of factors that are amounting to your dissatisfaction. And when you can’t change the situation, change the place.

5. You are not growing
Not only in terms of the position in the company, but also in terms of your skills and knowledge. With passing years you acquire experience. This experience means that you are gaining expertise in your field with more knowledge, exposure and practice. But if ‘practice’ is the only thing you are getting out of your job, it is a stagnating situation. You need to grow, learn new skills.

6. You feel useless
Remember, no matter what work you do, you have something to contribute to your organisation. The moment you feel ‘useless’ to your company, or that you have no role to play, reconsider your job!

If you are falling prey to any of these situations, its time to update your resume! All the best!
