Improve your marriage and health

Given that having a strong marriage is such an important key to staying healthy and happy, it makes sense to direct energy into making your relationship work well.

Accept: You must accept your partner as he is or she is. Dont expect your spouse to change for the sake of the relationship. Dont waste time in finding fault- rather appreciate those qualities that have let the relationship last for so long.

Treat your spouse well: Sometimes, people end up treating their spouses worse than they would dream of treating a complete stranger. Disrespectful behaviour can contribute to the demise of your relationship.

Do you ever call your spouse names? If the answer is affirmative, then your marriage needs mending!

Forgive one another: If forgiveness is asked, dont turn away. If attempts to repair hurts are rejected, the relationship suffers.

Learn to let some things go: You must learn to pick your battles. Solve the problems that are solvable and let the others go. Life is like a sieve- use it for your benefit.

Do not forget to work on your self: You are responsible for 50 percent of what happens in your relationship. Be sure to use your rights and get the benefits you should.

Foster liking for your partner: It is no use keeping the words I love you! in your heart. Say them loud and clear. This is the antidote to contempt in a relationship.

Nurture your relationship: Work on your appreciation of the good qualities of your partner. Take a keen interest in his or her everyday activities.

The important thing is that, your actions should be clearly visible to your partner. No modesty in such a situation.

Have a respectful behaviour: Always behave respectfully to your partner. You may sometimes be annoyed with him or her but basic manners should not be forgotten.
Enjoy a happy marriage and good health.
