Its 11:30 in the night and you just got back home from a friends birthday party. You are already half-asleep as you change into the nightgown. You have to report for work tomorrow at 8 (after you have prepared breakfast and packed lunchboxes for yourself, hubby and kids). So all you can think of right now is the BED!!!

What do you do in this situation? I certainly find it difficult to resist the urge to just start snoring away blissfully. But gals, this is not the RIGHT thing to do and its certainly not healthy for your skin. Take out 5 minutes for a cleansing regimen for your face, every night before you drift off to sleep. Unless you want to be face-to-face with a breakout of small pimples every morning, you must learn to clean your face every night. Heres how

First of all, use a gentle and diluted moisturizer or cream on a ball of (cotton wool) to wipe off all the foundation and powder from your face.

Next comes the turn of your eye-makeup. Indian women tend to use a lot of kajal/eyeliner and mascara to define their lovely eyes. But its as important to remove the eye makeup as it is to put it on. Use a tested eye-make up remover to softly wipe off the stuff.

Removing the lipstick is not very difficult. Usually by the time you are about to retire, it pales down enough to be removed with your face wash. But if thats not the case, you may use a little Vaseline to wipe it off easily.

Now that all the important areas are done, its time for the face cleansing. Use any cleanser that suits your skin type. Lukewarm water is the best for forming a good amount of lather from a small dollop of cleanser. After gently rubbing the cleanser on your face splash your face with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Finish off with a night cream to avoid dryness. The makeup removal may cause dryness, so dont forget this step.
