Holi is a beautiful festival. Who doesn’t want the joys of such a delightful festival to linger on? But when such “joys” come in the form of the irremovable pacca rang, it’s not a joy anymore! Especially when the colour is all over your face and hands!

So, the Holi afterhours end up becoming quite torturous… because nobody wishes to go to work the next day, looking like lal muh ka bandar!

Not only this, the chemicals that are mixed with the Holi colours may even cause severe rashes and other allergies to your skin and scalp!

But you don’t need to put yourself through a torture or your beauty at stake! Here are a few tips that will help you get rid of the colour easily!

Remove colours as soon as you've finished playing Holi.

Use cold water to remove the colours. Hot water makes the colour stronger, making it a lot more difficult to get rid of them.

Do not wash your face again and again with soap,or your skin will become very dry. Instead, apply some coconut oil with the help of cotton on your skin and then try to remove the colours.

• To lighten the colour, rub lemon wedges on the body and then apply wheat flour and oil mixture to get a good scrub effect. Any other harsh scrub will only make the skin more dry and itchy.

• Applying soaked amchur powder and besan also helps in removing the colour. Other good colour removers are vinegar, mustard oil, curd and soapnut (reetha) extract.

Apply moisturizer to your entire body immediately after the bath to prevent it from getting dry or itchy.

If you have acne, wash your face clean with Cetaphil cleanser and apply an antibiotic gel.

If you suffer from dandruff, prevent on acute attack by shampooing with your usual anti-dandruff shampoo, then rubbing in a few drops of lemon juice and oil.

It won’t be long before you resume your beautiful, soft skin and shinny hair. If you have taken proper precautions before playing Holi, like putting oil on your body and hair, it will be a lot easier for you to get rid of the colour.
