After crashing badly for 2 days, yesterday the sensex closed around 850 points up that the previous day. There's no doubt that the market will touch 20000 within a couple of months/weeks. So is this a good time to inest? A good time to enter the market?

I know some people who have been trading in futures and have lost lakhs of rupees in those two days. I'm not very investment savvy. But I do loe the thrill and excitement of the stock market. I can't decide whether or not to enter the market. some people say that another correction will come within 2-3 weeks. But considering the Fed rate cuts and the state of our economy, I don't think the market is going to crash. Intermittent highs and lows r ok as long as u r in it for long term. Right?

Any advice anyone out there has for me? Any idea on which r the best stocks? And how long should one hold on?
