Tamil Nadu Bandit, Veerappan is yet again in focus of Bollywood. And guess who’s creative brain is the subject tickling? Of course, the director who loves experimenting with the underworld (in his films of course), Mr. Ram Gopal Varma!

What is even more interesting is the fact that he is being accompanied, in this project, by none other than the queen of Indian Television Soaps, Ekta Kapoor .

Ramu has big plans for this film and has already started his research on the project. In fact, he even spoke to Veerappan’s wife to gather relevant insights about his life.

“Veerappan’s wife visited us. After listening to our intentions, she gave us valuable inputs and insights into the true story of Veerappan and she is completely endorsing and standing by the project. The film will primarily cater to the national audiences, but as Veerappan is known at an international level, it is bound to arouse interest even outside India.”

Sources say that Ekta Kapoor decided to co-produce the film soon after she heard about the idea. She has even sent a blank cheque to RGV to indicate her interests. She wants RGV to make this film at a very grand scale!

Ekta lately has been showing keen interests in RGV productions. Her Balaji Motion Pictures has acquired the worldwide rights of Sarkar Raj. The rights include India and overseas theatrical and satellite rights.

Well, we don’t now about Ramu Ji (as his recent ventures haven’t responded too well at the Box Ofice), but Ekta surely knows the formulae to make things do well on screen, like calling it Kahani Veerappan Ki!
