After creating several God-like characters in over a dozen daily soaps, complete with a set of evil spirits living in the bodies of heavily done-up female bodies, Ekta Kapoor’s is making her cast portray actual Gods!

The queen of small screen is all set to introduce her first mythological saga, Mahabharata to the Indian Television!

Though, considering that characters like Tulsi and Parvati already play ‘Gods’ to their families in her serials, not much will be different from the other daily soaps she does. Except, this time, even the men will have equal opportunely to experiment with their wardrobe, make-up and jewellery!

Of course the budget will be very grand, corresponding to the grand sets, costumes and other grand costs involved. Some of Ekta’s favourite actors from her daily soaps will be a part of this massive project that will hit the small screen in August. Here’s a glimpse of the caste:

Bhishma Pitama
The man that gained many-a-hits as Mihir in the revolutionary, never-ending series, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi will now be playing Bhishma Pitama in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharata!

Dhritrashtra
Imagine the not-so-light-weighted Ram Kapoor. Now imagine Dhritrashtra - the one that you have pictured in your mind after reading your school texts and watching Mahabharata on DD1. Never mind. With the expert direction of Ekta Kapoor, Ram Kapoor will surely be able to fit in the well trimmed body frame of Dhritrashtra!

Duryodhan and Kans Mama
While Aryan Vaid is playing Duryodhan, Akashdeep Saigal is playing the other bad guy in the epic, Kans Mama.

Krishna, the prime character in the epic hasn’t been decided yet. While, Ekta is still contemplating between Anita Hasanandani or Gauri Pradhan for the role of Draupadi.

Interestingly, Ekta’s has not taken her favourite, Smriti Irani, for any role in the Mahabharata! Is Smriti already tired of playing Godly in all those soaps she has been doing?

But, what is of a bigger concern is that there is not a single ‘K’ in Mahabharata! Now, what will guarantee the seriel’s success?
