Having lived in metros, life in a small town can be so dull. I have moved to Dehradun with my husband last weekend. Contrary to what most people said, we do not like the place a lot. Yeah yeah...its beautiful, quaint and all! But most of the city is like a garbage dump. The monsoon makes it worse.
The worst part is the pace of life. Nobody is in a hurry to do anything. And for people who are in a hurry, there's nothing that can be done. We have been here for four days and we still have no sim card connection or internet service. It took us 3 days to get a cable connection. The easiest excuse most service providers put forth is "Madam - It is raining". Please tell me how a little rain can disrupt work so easily?
The city has its beauty too. The people are nice and gentle and for a retired person - It is paradise.
