Chandigarh is not called The City Beautiful for nothing. It is the most well planned, clean, organised and liveable city in India. The air and water pollution levels are much below other cities, and are also the lowest in the country. The roads are big, wide and clean. Hawkers are a strict No No on Chd's roads, unlike the metros.
And if you want to hang out, there's no better place than Chd. Sector 17 is known to all and sundry as the most happening place in town. sector 22 market is also not very far behind. And who can question the beauty and mesmerising charm of the Sukhna lake? You can hang out with your friends by the lake, eat at the restaurant there, walk along the boundary of the lake, jog and even enjoy boating.
One of the greatest wonders in the city is the rock Garden. Can you guys imagine a huge huge huge garden very tastefully decorated with, guess wot? Waste materials, guys!!! Yep, that's wot the whole garden has been decorated with. And it's a great place to visit, take my word for that.
Chandigarh is also a great place to be in, if you are the arty cultural type. Same goes for the intellectuals. Most of the residents are into services and jobs. The people are more or less educated and decent. It's quite safe for women too.
So, for obvious reasons, I'm glad and proud to be living in Chandigarh.
