This might become the punch line of the next trailer you come across on your television! While other movies are trying to draw the audiences’ attention by telling them that “Pappu Can’t Dance… Sallu… oops… Salla”, the upcoming film, Mukhbir, is trying to introduce a new trend: a money-back guarantee, if you don’t like the film!
“Chaar Haftoon Mein Gorapan, Varna Paise Vapas!
Isn’t this, the way our ‘beauty-toiletry’ product commercials try to persuade us to buy them? Aah! So, now the film makers have even stopped using their original ideas to sell their films!
Anyway, Indian audiences have learnt to overlook this ‘bad habit’ of Indian film makers. Now the big question is… will it work here? With the bombardment of new faces in the industry (just like new product launches) maybe they are actually trying to ‘sell’ their movies like other Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) in the market!
Don’t they realise that films are actually VFMCGs… VERY Fast Moving Consumer Goods? Their life with one consumer is only three hours and these ‘products’ are such that they are RARELY reused!
Nevertheless, the film makers of Mukhbir are so confident it will do well that they are offering a refund (minus taxes, of course) to people who don’t like it!
The film is a spy thriller (which certainly sounds interesting and different) but doesn’t have a major star cast (which means the film makers are REALLY banking on its story!)
Whatever the reason maybe, the ‘money-back-guarantee’ will certainly pull the curious crowd towards the theatres! Muft Ka Maza Kaun Nehi Chahta?
