Gone are the days when our filmy hero used to fight against a huge troop of bad men all alone to save his lady love. And the lady helplessly watched her man fight, while she screamed from one corner of the frame. Today, the ladies themselves fight it out themselves!
A new generation of heroines is dawning upon Hindi Movies: the bold beauties! They are strong, they are daring, they are gorgeous and for a change, they are thinking of themselves! And this new avtar of the Hindi film heroines have made them look sexier than ever before!
The latest entry in this genre of heroines is of the cute looking girl-next-door, Ayesha Takiya!
Her fans might find it difficult imagine this sweet girl turn into an Indian version of a Charlie’s Angel. But Ayesha is too bored of doing the typical roles she is being offered, playing the same sweet lover girl in every movie, with a small additional skill of sprinkling humour in the drama (which most heroines still haven’t been able to acquire). So, the woman has decided to go bold onscreen (and don’t get me wrong please)!
She is following the foot steps of Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Remember how they stunned the audiences with their ‘action-packed’ performance in the movies Don and Dhoom-2? Ayesha feels that action movies are actually making a comeback in Hindi cinema, and wants to be ‘where the actions is’!
Priyanka too is living up to the ‘action woman’ image, by playing a similar ‘bold’ character in her upcoming film Drona, opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
Meanwhile, other sweet and sexy heroines are also jumping into the race of action movies. Deepika Padukone will show off some martial arts in Chandni Chowk To China and Koena Mitra will do some stunts in the Hollywood flick, Karma.
This new trend is surely going to be revolutionary for Indian Cinema. The idea of a woman dominating the actions sequences certainly sounds fresh and promising for apna Bollywood!
Finally, the women have realised that if they expect their men to help them in household chores, they will have to help their respective heroes to fight away the evil! Jokes Apart, aren’t we glad to see the positive change in the seedhi-saadhi-bholi-bhali image of Indian Cinema’s Bhartiye Naari?
