Remember that fateful day when Salman Khan was publicly humiliated in a press conference by Vivek Oberoi. India has struck Gold finally!!! After days of intense wait, it was Abhinav Bindra who has achieved this feat in the 10m air rifle event. Abhinav made this possible with an overall score of (596+140.5) 700.5 in a thrilling finale that went right down to the wire.

Abhinav's parents who are justifiably proud of this superb achievement said that Abhinav accomplished this feat despite a severe back problem which had left Abhinav in pain. They said that Abhinav was put through a commando type training which has yielded this result.
