Our ancestors were not stupid. They did not fast on particular days of the week for no reason. Though masked with a layer of spiritualism, they knew that fasting is good for the body! Experts now agree that intermittent fasting is indeed good for your body, especially if you are trying to lose weight!

How to Lose Weight with Intermittent Fasting?

The basic funda is to eat for a period of time, then not eat for a period of time - and repeat. There are no hard and fast rules here. But there are a few things you can try.

- The 5-2 Way: This is a popular diet that many celebrities endorse. The diet calls for normal or your usual eating pattern for 5 days in the week, but for the other 2 days, you are supposed to restrict your calorie intake to 500.

- The REWD: Restricted Eating Window diet means you are allowed to eat for a shorter period of time, thereby increasing your fasting duration. For example, you eat the first meal of your day after 10 am and the last meal at 6 pm. You end up fasting for 16 hours!

- While in the fasting mode, you can only drink water or lemon infused water. Calories are not allowed.

- Working out in the fasting time can be a challenge. Due to restricted calories, you might feel you have little or no energy and can also be hungry-angry or hangry! 

But people who have tried fasting vouch for it and say that they see results in as less as 3-4 weeks!
