There's nothing like that smells as good as the smell of a freshly baked bread. Imagine baking your own bread every day, and experimenting with different components, styles, fillings and toppings. You want to start right away, don't you?

Basic Bread Recipe

The basic white bread is very simple and you neither need expensive ingredients nor any hi fi machines. All you need is an oven and your hands!

Ingredients

500 g Flour, 40 g Butter, 12 g Dry Yeast, 2 tsp Salt, Warm water to Knead

You start by proofing the dry yeast by mixing it with a little warm water and letting it rise before you add the flour and other ingredients. Now knead the ingredients into a dough. Bread requires a good deal of kneading till the dough is smooth and stretchy. Now let the dough sit for 2 hours and rise.

When the dough has risen, shape it into whatever shape you desire and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 220 degrees.

Variations
You can add components like raisins, walnuts, mashed fruit, garlic etc to bake the bread you desire for on a particular day. You can even change the flour if you like, mixing and choosing from various different flours available in the market.

What my family loves is fresh sliced bread, topped with fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, cheese etc and toasted again in the oven. This is an absolute "must try"!
