Paul Khanna from UK has come out with a new weight loss book which he cheekily calls "Six Weeks to OMG!" The title is meant to attract instant attention and the content of the book is unique and shocking. The medical community and dieticians have trashed the book because they feel it will start unhealthy trends in young girls, possibly increasing the incidence of diseases like Anorexia and Bulimia.
So what is all the fuss about? Why has the book been trashed so vehemently?
For starters, the book talks about "looking skinnier than your friends". Such competition is considered unhealthy and maybe it is. But if a feeling of competition can make you healthier, why can't it be viewed as we view competitive sports?
The book slams the idea of eating breakfast. It is shocking, but the author says that eating breakfast is largely overrated. The way he says it, it makes you think! Paul Khanna also recommends taking cold water baths for upto as long as 2 hours! He says that this fires up the body's metabolism. If you don't have a bathtub, sorry for you!
The author discourages one from eating fruit and also high carb veggies like the Broccoli which is considered to be very healthy generally. Paul emphasises the importance of daily workouts throughout his book. He motivates the reader to get off the couch and get moving.
You see, the author seems to have written a book that is the complete opposite of what we generally believe to be a healthy lifestyle. But trying a weight loss program like this is not free of risks. So be careful and be aware if you are going to try it!
